Reflection

Hello! Today I will be writing about what I have learnt in school for this term. As what Confucius had said, "By three methods may we learn wisdom: first, by reflection......" Thus, we will follow the format of a 3-2-1 reflection.

First of all, I learnt how to work under stress. We have much more homework, projects and tests in Secondary than in Primary school. There may also be many tests and projects in a week. Thus it is very important to be calm and collected when in these situations. If we are stressed out and cannot concentrate on what we are doing, we cannot study properly and then we will just fail everything. However if we are calm and collected, we can concentate properly and thus, do well.
I also learnt to be independent in whatever I do. We cannot depend on other people. Thus if something goes wrong, we know what we did wrong and not blame anyone else but ourselves. By being independent, we also learn to be more responsible for our actions.
I also learn how to cook proper dishes and know how to use the rice cooker, electric cake mixer etc. Thus, if my mother cannot cook, I can depend on myself.

I would like to improve on my other subjects like chinese and geography because I would like to be in Express next year. I would also like to improve on how to write proper essays and compositions.

I would like to learn how to draw properly and use different technics on how to make my drawings nicer.

What does it mean to me to live in Singapore?

I think that I am very lucky to be able to live in Singapore because Singapore is a multi racial country and it is very clean and green. Having Singapore be a multi racial country, we can all live in harmony without being racis nor getting into fights. We can be friends with anyone and everyone. We will not be punished or scolded just because a chinese girl is friends with a malay girl. And I believe that it is very important for a country to live in harmony because if people always fought, the country would be 'destroyed'. In such a way that there would be wars and people would die and everyone would be unhappy.

Although I have been to other countries, I always feel a need to get home after a week or two, because I would miss home, the different types of food and cleaness of Singapore. In all the different countries I have been to, Singapore is always the cleanest.

Favourite myths

My two favourite myths were The red dragon and The boy who loved bears. I liked the myth, The boy who loved bears because it tells us how close we can be to animals if we just try. Imagine two big, brown and fierce bears carrying you to their home to help you. There is also a connection between the bear and the man. I especially liked the part when the man died and at the same time a bear died (not that i like them to be dead). I just find it very interesting and touching for a bear and a man to be 'brothers'. I also liked the myth, The red dragon because it tells us how the animals became themselves. I always liked stories that tells me how animals came to be. I find it very interesting like the snake's legs fell off and it slithered away in the grass. However, I like The boy who loved bears because i find it very touching and is an inspiration to everyone.
